Books in my To-Read Pile
Hey fellow geeks, it’s 5 Fandom Friday again! Here’s my current “To-Read” pile, and although this is supposed to be “5” items… it’s gonna be more. I’ve spent a lot of money on books recently, and since I have a goal to read 50 books this year (that’s one book a week!) it feels justified. I’ve even split up my to-read pile into sub-categories for your reading pleasure!
Books in my To-Read Pile
Death of the Family – My husband just finished this and couldn’t stop raving about it, and from what he’s told me it’s surely a must read. I love the Joker as a character so I can’t wait to see how this portrays him.
Old Man Logan – I really want to read through this before the movie comes out, so I grabbed the first book in the series. I still have time to make it happen!
Hulk – I purchased this at my last con and I never got around to reading it, but it’s among my other must read comics.
The Alchemist – I’ve heard fantastic things about this book, and it seemed like a great read for the new year. I can’t wait to start on this one!
The Handmaid’s Tale – On the opposite side of the spectrum, this is supposed to be a very dark novel. With today’s current events I think it’s important to read thought provoking books such as this one.
The Girl Before – One of my best friends and I have our own book club! This is her pick for the month of February, and I can’t wait to start it. I’ve been really into suspense and whodunit books lately so this is right up my alley.
The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up – Part of my “New Year New Me” kick (lame, I know). Kondo teaches her readers how to declutter their space and, in turn their life!
Design Elements: Using Images to Create Graphic Impact – This was a budget find at my local bookstore, and I bought it because of the $10 price. As soon as I began flipping through it at home, I realized it was a great purchase. I’m sure I’ll get a ton out of reading this one!
That’s what I have in my to-read pile, but I’m sure that it’ll only grow. My 5o book goal is pretty lofty, but I can make it happen. If you guys have any recommendations of books I should add to my pile, let me know! I would love to do a yearly or monthly roundup of what I’ve been reading. Maybe include it into my monthly favourites? What do you guys think? What are YOU looking forward to reading? Let me know here by commenting or continue the conversation with me on Twitter!
